A Simpler Life
I wish working life could be simpler.
All I want is to do a good job and enjoy working. I do enjoy my work but I’m not happy with the work environment.
Why can’t people work together more amicably? Why are there so much guardedness? We must use words so carefully.
Also, it is hard to work with people who don’t see eye-to-eye with you. There is nothing wrong with both parties. It is just a difference of opinion. But it can be very frustrating.
It is equally angst working with people who underestimate and undervalue the work I do. If it is so easy, they can do it themselves.
Sigh… I’m raving like a mad person.
I have been out-of-sort with work life lately. Is work really becoming difficult or have I been bitten by the 3-year bug?
3 years. That’s how long I take to become bored with my job. I recalled the jobs I had and the longest stint is 3 years. So yes, I might be getting restless.
I look forward to a work life where I do what I like 80% to 100% of the time. Some people told me that that is not possible. There are always trouble at work. You can’t be happy all the time. That’s true for the natural man.
I believe God created work for man to be productive and therefore happy. Work became stressful and hard because the world fell with Adam. Since I am redeemed by Christ, I am free to pursue Godly work. It is not hardship I dread per se. But fulfillment and satisfaction should be attainable goals.
Sometimes I feel like I am cooped up like a chicken, forced to peck on the ground eating dust when I am an eagle raring to fly and soar on high, riding the warm rising air of faith, love and hope to lofty mountaintops.
