I’m a hand crafted knit bear using 100% baby pink wool.
I was made according to the George pattern in Sandra Polley’s The Knitted Teddy Bear.
I was told that the instructions in general were easier than Debbie Bliss’ 25 Irresistible Designs for Knitted Bears.
The rows were clearly marked out and my progress could be easily tracked. It was also why I am a well-proportioned and handsome looking bear. I’m all for easy and clear instructions. (^_^)
Half of my body and head were knitted in 1 piece. So I was in 2 separate halves before making up. This is quite different from most bear patterns where the body and head are knitted separately. The problem with a separate body and head is the need to attach the 2 together. If not sew properly, the result is a floppy head. I am glad I do not have a floppy head.
All in all, I like the way I look. My limbs could be firmer and more muscular but one mustn’t be too greedy. I spend most of my time at the desk anyway.
Last but not least, I want to mention my shirt. It was made according to the pattern in the book but it looks a tad old fashioned and girly with the opening at the back. So, I wore the opening in front. I think this is smarter.
