I first heard and saw Benjamin Zander when I was working at the National Library, Singapore.
He is an American conductor from the United Kingdom. He was a very entertaining and inspiring speaker. His uniqueness lies in his ability to use classical music to explain leadership principles.
I came across this 20-minute presentation he gave at TED2008. Enjoy!
He uses a piece of music by Chopin, and seeing the piece in a long line rather than impulse by impulse, he demonstrates the importance of holding a vision. He encourages the participants to influence others and create “shining eyes”.
