I wanted to build my own website for a long time.
I just didn’t know how.
Information readily available now aren’t readily available when the idea first came to me back in 2000. I saw people’s websites and wonder how they did it.
What does it take to create or build a website? What software is needed? What about hardware? How do I get connected to the Internet? So many questions, yet nobody to answer them.
Then I got waylaid. By studies, by other ambitions, and finally by my professional life.
Somehow, the idea wouldn’t go away.
You know it is an important idea if at different stages of your life, the same idea keep popping up at you.
One fateful day in 2006, I finally found the way … Site Build it.
It is not just a web hosting service, it offers structured guidance, training and tools for successful Internet marketing, netwriting, getting traffic and making money ultimately. It is like a training camp for website newbies…like me.
I do not have to worry about FTP, PHP, mySQL and whatever acronyms that were thrown at me. I don’t have to worry about submitting to the search engines or paying to optimize for the search engines. I don’t have to buy advertisements to get my site out there.
All I need to do with some brain, drive and motivation is to write good quality CONTENT to attract high TRAFFIC who are PRESOLD by my content and finally MONETIZE to start earning my keep.
Yup, I wanted to build my own website to make some money for me.
The Site Build it way is such a grounded way to build a website. Build it right the first time. Have patience and persevere.
It has been more than 3 years since I started my website. It is more than paying for itself now. I am sure my revenue will keep growing and one day soon it will also be paying for my way of life too.
